It is my honor and privilege to be Head of School at Tarsus American College. As our distinguished alumni can attest, to be part of TAC is to be part of a living history, a family that spans the globe and stretches back more than 130 years.
We are an exclusive high school, widely recognized as one of the best in the Mediterranean region and unique among private schools in Turkey for matriculating some of the most successful leaders in business, medicine, communications, law, philanthropy, and the arts.
With nearly 600 students coming from 35 different cities in Turkey, nearly 25% of whom reside in our modern boarding facilities, and a teaching staff comprised of experienced Turkish and international educators from 8 countries, TAC is a dynamic institution that fosters global mindedness and personal accountability in tangible ways.
Our curriculum is enriched with meaningful electives and an immersive English preparatory program for all students prior to starting 9th grade. We offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and are accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education and the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Tarsus stands at the crossroads of world history, a small city situated just 10 miles inland from the shores of the Mediterranean amidst citrus groves with a mountainous backdrop. Grand historic sites like Cleopatra’s Gate and St. Paul’s Cathedral are within just a few minutes’ walk from TAC, serving as the backdrop to our serene, park-like campus modeled after small New England colleges.
The subtropical climate allows for near year-round access to outdoor activities and the accessibility of two larger cities, Mersin and Adana, provide for additional educational and recreational opportunities, not to mention some of the best cuisine in the world. Istanbul is just a one-hour flight from Adana, providing inexpensive and easy access to cities in Europe and the Middle East.
A proud part of the SEV Health and Education Foundation’s family of schools, we
continue to invest in our teachers, our infrastructure, and our curriculum so that TAC grows from being recognized not only as one of the top schools in the country or the region, but in the world.
